In recognition of National Financial Literacy Month, the Brunswick County Literacy Council is hosting Women’s Empowerment Week, a four-night series of free workshops designed to help women build confidence in finances, communication skills, technology use, and everyday decision-making.

Participants may attend one session, two sessions, three sessions, or the full series, depending on their interests and schedules.

When: 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM nightly, April 20–23, 2026

Schedule at a Glance:

Monday – Basic Financial Literacy
Build confidence managing everyday finances with practical strategies for budgeting, understanding needs versus wants, and safely using mobile banking tools.

Tuesday – Life Skills Reset
Strengthen skills that support success at home, school, and work, including time management, communication strategies, teamwork techniques, and conflict resolution tools.

Wednesday – Social Media Detective
Learn how to navigate social media safely and confidently while recognizing scams, protecting your privacy, and making smart decisions online.

Thursday – Smartphone Confidence
Discover helpful smartphone tools that make daily life easier—from organizing apps and contacts to improving security settings and learning time-saving tips.
