BCLC offers programs designed to help adult learners in Brunswick County lead more successful and productive lives.
Basic Adult Literacy
BCLC provides free one-on-one literacy classes for adults who want to improve their reading, writing, and math skills so they can increase their job opportunities, the way they think, the way they communicate, and how they live.
We tutor students in all four subjects of the GED and HiSET as well as computer skills to help students prepare for and pass their GED.
English for Speakers of Other Languages
Our volunteer tutors work with learners of any native language to help them learn to read, write, and speak basic English to help them achieve fluency in day-to-day communications.
Computer Literacy for GED
We help students prepare for the computer skill sections on the GED by offering these basics: file management, exploring the web, email, word processing, spreadsheets and presentations.
We guide students through career awareness and help improve their employability skills.
We have partnered with the Kiwanis Club to teach financial literacy classes throughout Brunswick County in an effort to teach financial independence.
In partnership with St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church, we offer free citizenship classes English language learners.
