The Brunswick County Literacy Council needs volunteers for the following programs:
Brunswick County Jail – Volunteers who are willing to go in to the jail and work with inmates who want their GED in a classroom situation.
Financial Literacy – FDIC – Volunteers needed to teach Money Smart Program that is rolling out to High Schools for sophomore and junior students.
Life Skills/Employment Workshop – Will be held at the detention center. Workshop will include interviewing, resume writing and time management skills.
Tutors – Volunteers needed to tutor in the areas of Reading and Math as well as English as a Second Language.
Basic PC Classes
Book Share – Volunteers to look through donated books, and separate them by age level.
Office Assistance – Volunteers to help with general office tasks, make copies, and help to organize teaching materials here at the Literacy Council.
